About the Writer

Natalie J is a writer who speaks from the inside out as she lives from the outside in. That is to say: everything shared is not certain but certainly shareable.

Natalie grew up in the Tampa, FL and moved to Atlanta, GA in 2000. She is 30 years old, a classic Cancer and a homebody with a penchant to nest as she roams.

She left her office job in 2015 to pursue her big dream: Europe. While shimmery, delicious and expensive, the experience left her feeling one thing: lonely. So she returned to to her homeland, sold her stuff and returned for Europe Part Two starting in the town with the most attractive man: Hamburg.

She stayed on her friend’s futon, couchsurfed and airBNBed as she reupped on Nutella and cappuccinos. This left her feeling another thing: cholesteroled. So she went to Turkey and her friend said: “Try working in Alaska” and 4 months later she patrolled the docks directing passengers to The Misty Fjords. After Alaska she joined the Peace Corps and moved to Guatemala in September 2016. Which is where she is now: eating tortillas, sleeping under her mosquitero/mosquito net, working with youth and writing (in that order).

A theme throughout her travels is mountains and rain, on accident.

Please introduce yourself! Send a message or comment on a post. We’re a few words away from friendship and if for not friends, why do we write and roam?
